I wasn’t sure of what questions to ask Altynai since she was very  persistent in the fact that terrorism was not often covered in her class. So I asked her to review my “Bloody Sunday” paper and give her reactions.

It sounds like both sides were portrayed accurately, but I don’t believe the motives of the British were entirely justified. Since the British were in the position of power, they had the responsibility of being the more calm during the conflict. Just because the Irish rebels were throwing the stones at the British did not give them permission to shoot them. As the people in power, they should have used every alternative sufficiently before they resorted to such extreme violence. It sounds like they were trying to have their authority respected, but by reacting so violently, they undermined their own power.
